We had a fabulous day with Mark as our guide on the Seattle tour! He was entertaining and informative and made the whole experience a pleasure. The stop at Goose Ridge tasting room was fabulous. We loved having Kevin sit right down with us and talk about each of the wines. Then we went to Chateau St. Michelle, and this is where the rating dropped from a 5 star down to a 4. If I was rating just the experience at that winery it would have only been a 1 star. After the close personal experience at Goose Ridge this next winery was quite a disappointment. Our tastings were plopped in front of us and the hostess talked so fast about all 4 wines that by the time she was done we couldn't remember anything she said about the first wine. The price was really high and was not waived with a purchase (we are from California wine country and never pay for a tasting if we are purchasing wine). Chateau St. Michelle was quite a disappointment. I really recommend that Customized Tours find a different winery!
This was an excellent tour and I highly recommend it! As an out-of-town visitor, I felt that I got a great tour of the City and surrounding communities, and the area’s history. Captain Steve was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. Great for solo travelers like myself or groups! And Covid protocols were followed, so the environment was safe. Well worth the money!
While you see some amazing sites of Seattle, the tour description does not prepare you and is deceptive. The stops are up to the guide so my guide took us to HIS favorite places. I was picked up at 8:45am and dropped off after 4pm. I was advised beforehand that I would have to purchase lunch on one of the stops. Problem is only 2 stops had food and one we were allowed 20 minutes- at Pike St Market where any line is at least a 30-40 minutes wait, and the other at the Fisherman's Pier where we were allowed 10 minutes. Guide advised us each time to try and grab a quick snack as we wouldn't have time for food purchases. Tour was supposed to end at 2 but guide advised it would run long. I told him I had to be back no later than 4 for a work function and was back late. 15 minutes may not seem like a big deal but I had a work function at 5 and no time to shower and barely time to change and clean up. When I mentioned that the tour should advise you to pack water and snacks and that I was upset about being late the tour guide verbally attacked me and drove like a maniac while continuing to rant about how I didn't appreciate him doing a good job. When I tried to explain that the tour was good and he didn't do a bad job but I was hungry and late for work he told me to shut up so he could get me back and then proceeded to rant about being ungrateful the entire drive back. By the time we got to my hotel he had calmed down enough for me to tell him that his behavior was unacceptable. Again- we saw lots of stuff. But not the stuff we were expecting to see. A 5 minute photo op of the space needle from a distance? 25 minutes at pike street Market? There were several things that could have been shortened or eliminated in order for us to have more time at the main attractions. This needs to be described as a tour of unusual and obscure places in Seattle and tourists should be advised to bring food and drinks with them.
