Itinerary

There is so much unique nature for children and families to experience in Big Bear Lake. Take a family-friendly walk with me into the woods and let me teach you and your family about our native plants and the history of the Big Bear Valley. I will explain all the different plants and trees we will see on the hike and even munch on wild plants we see growing seasonably on the trailside. I will tell you and your family stories about the animals who live in this forest, even showing your children animal tracks, owl pellets and if we see any butterflies I will teach your children the secrets to taking the best butterfly photos.
I love sharing my knowledge of this wilderness with young guests to Big Bear. As an outdoor enthusiast, I have so many tales to entertain families about our local Big Bear wildlife. If we meet any butterflies on the trail I will even give your children a quick lesson on butterfly photography!
I feel like getting kids interested in nature when they are young is a great way to influence the future generations of outdoor lovers. Big Bear Lake is a great alpine area to learn about our local plants and animals.

If you’re looking for something special to do in Big Bear, I would highly recommend booking Amber for a private tour. My fiancée [crazy to be able to say that now] just finished snow-showing around the mountains, where we got engaged at the top! What an incredible experience. Thank you so much, Amber! Amber is such a sweet soul and so is her pup Carly! The hike was well timed, the coffee was sublime, and we loved the conversation and atmosphere. We had a blast!! Will absolutely be doing another hike with Amber again.

This was amazing! Seriously can't wait to do another hike with Amber. I was trying to plan a hike on my own and I had no idea where to go, what the difficulty of the different hikes were, what I needed to bring, if I would get lost. Amber took all the uncertainty out of trying to plan this on my own and made it all so easy and comfortable! She knows so much about the area! She can easily recommend exactly what you're looking for. She tells you exactly how tough it will be, what you need, where to park. And then having Amber throughout the hike to tell us about the plants and animals and area made the whole experience ten times better! A personal guide is SO WORTH IT! Thank you so much Amber!

We went on a family-friendly hike with Amber to see Big Bear's wild burros. She knew the place they usually graze and we were so lucky to find them on this early morning! The hike was beautiful and not a trail we ever would have found on our own.
